The Gif we are talking about of course is the animated GIF which has revolutionized and transformed the internet over the years from a one dimensional still life grid into a colorful moving picture show. The original intent of this GIF was to make e-cards and other art work move and appear 3 dimensional. Now in this day of social networking and Instant Messaging we send these GIFS every day in the form of Tags or E-cards to our BFF’s , regular friends and family out there in cyberspace. Because there is an ever increasing need for us to derive maximum enjoyment from our computers the GIF now offers us an endless variety of short video clips featuring beautiful women, dancing hunks,and cute baby animals walking, dancing, and prancing across the computer screen. The down side is the more annoying ones that pop up and take over your whole screen with ads for cars or products you have no interest in. You will encounter many of these at the Web Site Browsers and even more so if you visit sites that have a lot of pop up windows. The holiday season is a great time to start a collection of Animated Gifs. Just save them to your hard drive and enjoy them all year long. They are free to use for non commercial purposes, (meaning you are not making any money from using them or selling them to any one else.-Ed) For some people collecting GIF’s is a fun hobby like collecting bumper stickers, pictures of movie stars, or postcards. In slow economic times it makes sense to amuse yourself as cheaply as you can. So if this works for you Hurray!!
